Our Family loves Cranberries with Turkey! And, as many families enjoy a Turkey Dinner on Thanksgiving Weekend, we thought it a good time to share it with you.
1 – 12 oz bag of whole fresh cranberries (you can use frozen too)
1 cup orange juice
1 cup granulated sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp nutmeg
dash of salt
Place all ingredients in a heavy saucepan, give it a good stir to mix fully, and place the pot on the stove top over medium heat. Bring the mixture to a boil, stirring frequently. Once boiling, reduce heat and cook on a low boil until all the berries pop, about 20 minutes. Cool, and serve 🙂 Make sure to remove the pot from the heat source once it appears all the berries have popped, overcooking can make the berries a little bitter.
This recipe is very versatile and can be adjusted to suit your taste buds. For extra sweetness, just add a little more sugar, or use some liquid honey in place of the sugar. If you happen to be a little more adventurous, switch up the choice of juice, we’ve tried mango and it tastes great too.
Sincerely,
The Rosts
