October is here and with it comes, what we think, is one of the BEST Holiday Weekends of the year. Thanksgiving!
It’s an opportunity for us to share the day with our Family and Friends and express our appreciation for the many Blessings we have received throughout the year. Once everyone has arrived, from the youngest to the oldest, each guest takes a minute or two to tell the others what they are personally grateful for. As you can imagine, the list is quite varied, since the youngest family member is only 18 months old and the eldest of us is now 86 years young. This year, each one of our team will be expressing a Hearty Thanks for all the amazing clients who chose to put their trust in us to assist them with their home journies, for which we are Truly Grateful!
We also share a wonderful meal, which will include turkey, stuffing, gravy, baked ham, sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes, homemade cranberry-orange sauce, cheesy carrot ring, apple-turnip casserole, home baked buns. And of course there’s dessert; Our Aunty Tracy makes the most amazing Baily’s Irish Cream Cheesecake and our mom creates a delicious Gluten-free German Chocolate cake with Salted Carmel Cream Cheese filling, and Salted Caramel butercream icing … We think you get the picture. It’s definitely a “wear your comfy pants” sort of afternoon. Followed by a prepare to nibble left-overs while playing a competitive round or two of Crib, Joker’s Wild, Snakes and Ladders or Labrynth, depending on the age of your opponent. If the weather happens to be co-operating, we’ll often head outdoors for a lively round or two of Bocce Ball And, now with our grandpa needing a little more rest, we’ve created lawn chair Bocce, which encourages everyone to pick a team and play.
Sufficiently fed and watered, and now tuckered out from the many rounds of games, each family will fill up a to-go container, or two or three, with remaining food stuffs to take home and enjoy for the next week. Then it’s a warm good-night hug and we we set off for our respective homes to begin building the new memories we’ll share with one another next year.
From our Families to yours, we wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving weekend!
Sincerely,
The Rosts
