Spring is here, and if you’re like us, you’re enjoying the additional hours of sunshine and daylight. Though the days are warming up in Alberta, throughout the month of April it’s not uncommon to get snow storms, or rain showers, or both at the same time! As the song goes, “Though April showers may come your way, they bring the flowers that bloom in May”. So, while the sometimes-wet weather may dampen our spirits, it has done nothing to dampen the temperature of the local housing market. In fact, the sales statistics below are from the month of March and the numbers emphasize just how Hot the Real Estate Market is in the Greater Edmonton Area.
Location_______ #Homes sold____#Days on Market ___Average Price_Increase Year/Year
Edmonton 1,315 27 $507,908 UP 8.03%
Sherwood Park 112 17 $506,274 UP 5.07%
Fort Saskatchewan 73 39 $495,812 UP 13.5%
St. Albert 113 23 $557,893 UP 11.8%
The bottom line is, though the weather may be unpredictable in April, the housing market this Spring has been strong and steady.
