A Quiet Hush falls over the crowd. A lone bugler plays the last post! Collectively, we take time to remember those who have gone before us, paving the way to a freedom they believed was worth the ultimate sacrifice. May we never forget their courage, dedication and fierce defence of our Country.
This year, Remembrance Day for our family will be a little different. You see, our sweet grandma Grace passed away suddenly on June 15th. And though she never fought in a world war, she did spend the whole of her life fighting for the good of her family.
She was an example of fierce commitment with a singular determination to see a job done, and she had a big heart filled to overflowing with unconditional love for everyone. Quite Literally, if our grandma knew your name, to her you were family, and she mothered you whether you liked it or not. No matter what the situation might be, she was always at the ready to come to the aid of those she loved with a word of encouragement, sound wisdom, and at certain times even a scolding or two. Though we would have wanted her to be with us for a long time yet, our grandma was an amazing woman, and there was nothing else she could have done in her life to influence our future. Leaving us now, versus in ten10 years time, wouldn’t have changed the impact she had on us. She was pure and Simple. Rock Steady.
Mightly warriors come in all shapes and sizes, and while our grandma was only 4 foot 10 inches tall she stood as tall as any general in our eyes. So, this year, as we take time to remember all those who fought for King and Country, we will also be spending some sweet time remembering our fierce little grandma who fought tirelessly for the good fo her family and blessed our lives in so many ways.
Sincerely,
The Rosts
