I’m sure you’ll agree with us that a First look & First Impression is not something that can be repeated. That’s why we call them “Firsts”. So, when it comes to selling your home, it’s important to spruce up both the interior and exterior of your property.
Here are a few tips designed to assist your property in making a good First Impression during the Fall Season.
1. Maintain the outdoor yard spaces. Overgrown shrubs and a brown or patchy lawn can leave the impression that a property has not been looked after. So, ensure all plants, (yes, your grass is a plant too), receive adequate watering and trimming until the growing season is over.
2. Remove old blooms and withered leaves from flowering plants and take down tired looking baskets. Where possible, pop in a few fall flowers like Chrysanthemums that will bloom until the snow flies, or add fresh seasonal baskets to create vibrant garden spaces.
3. Keep the entrances to your home spic and span. Get rid of pesky spider webs and wipe away any dirt or debris that may have collected around the doorways. Anyone who’s looking to buy a home is LOOKING at all the nooks and crannies.
4. Complete a deep clean on the interior. Do a walk through of your home during the brightest part of the day, and take note of carpet stains, wall marks, and the dirt that tends to gather in the corners. Then grab your supplies, turn on your favorite music, and get to work.
With the current Real Estate Market returning to a more “Balanced Market“, there are simply more homes available for potential buyers to view. So, it’s important to make sure your entire property stands out from the very first look, for as the saying goes: “You never get a second chance to make a good first impression”.
Sincerely,
The Rosts
