We’re pretty sure you already know that the housing market slows down during the month of December, for the most part, due to the Christmas Holidays. But, did you know, that the Christmas Holidays are also responsible for an acceleration of the housing market in early January? Yes, it’s been our experience, that despite the cold weather and shorter days, our phones start ringing, sometimes on December 26th, as buyers and sellers alike begin to jump into the home market. And the biggest motivation we’ve discovered for them choosing to making a move, is found in the top 3 items noted on their home search “must have” list.
1. A larger kitchen with plenty of cupboards and a walk-in pantry; somewhere to store the awesome kitchen gadgets that were checked off of their Christmas wish list.
2. A bigger garage; Additional space is needed to pack away all the new containers bought and filled with holiday related decorations.
3. Roomier closets in the bedrooms; Santa left presents under the tree and filled the children’s stockings to overflowing, now the kids’ bedrooms are overflowing!
If you’re like our family, you enjoyed the slow down provided during the Christmas holidays as you spent time with family and friends awaiting the arrival of old St. Nicholas. And, if Santa Claus was extra good to you on Christmas morning and you now find yourself in need of additional storage space, our phones are on, and we’re always happy to chat!
Sincerely,
The Rosts
