With Christmas preparations in full swing, and baking well under way, we decided to share a “Family Favorite” cookie recipe. From the kitchen of our great-grandma to yours!
Butter Buds
1 cup Butter softened
2 eggs (room temp) beaten
1 tsp vanilla
4 tsp baking powder
1 cup white sugar
2 1/2 cups all purpose flour
Cream butter together with sugar in mixing bowl until smooth. Add eggs and vanilla to butter and sugar and mix until well combined. Add flour and baking powder, mix until combined and dough forms. The dough should be soft yet somewhat firm. Pinch off small amounts of dough and roll between palms of your hands to form a one inch ball. Place on an ungreased cookie sheet, leaving room between the cookies to press down gently with a fork to create a criss-cross pattern on the top of the cookie.
Bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 15 minutes. Cookies will be lightly browned when done.
This is a simple and fast recipe, that even the kids can make. We hope your family enjoys these cookies as much as we do!
Sincerely,
The Rosts
